You can transform your life insurance policy into a charitable gift by either transferring ownership of an existing policy to AMICUS foundation or by making the foundation the beneficiary of the policy. Either method will generate an income tax deduction.
- You may have purchased a life insurance policy in the past which is now paid in full. By transferring ownership and beneficiary status to AMICUS, you will receive an immediate tax deduction for the value of the policy or the total of the premiums paid.
- You may choose to take out a new life insurance policy, naming AMICUS as the beneficiary and owner of the policy. Premiums you pay on the policy may be deducted as charitable donations.
- You may decide to include AMICUS as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy you already own to benefit AMICUS and its many projects.
You will need to contact your insurance company and assign beneficiary status to AMICUS.
